In the garden
The mild weather has already caused the early spring flowers to appear. In the garden at this time of year the vegetable garden can be dug over if it is not too wet. Avoid walking on the soil if wet as it will compact the soil.
It is the traditional time for gardeners to make their vegetable and flower selections for the coming season. Early potatoes can be set out ready to start chitting. In January its about tidying, repairing, keep the greenhouse ventilated and start getting ready for a new season.
